Challenge
It had been three years since DJH and Mitten Clarke merged to form DJH Mitten Clarke, a leading accountancy firm in Stoke. Since the merger, the company had experienced significant growth, completing nine acquisitions and expanding to 12 offices across the Midlands, North-West, and Yorkshire. In response to client feedback and to better reflect their evolution, the firm decided to shorten its name to DJH. The challenge was to ensure that the change maintained the brand’s recognition while simplifying its identity. DJH remained committed to building strong relationships, offering straightforward advice, and delivering excellent service as they continued their journey into the future. This was all to be completed within a very short deadline of 8 weeks, to coincide with upcoming acquisitions.
Outcome
Developing the brand identity
When the rebrand brief came in, Revive had been happily working with the great and growing team at DJH for ten years. They had grown from around a team of 60 to approximately 500 team members in that time.
Revive’s in-depth knowledge of DJH, the Great Things Together group, and the existing brand guidelines helped with the evolution of the logo, which depended on retaining the use of colors and the strapline to keep brand recognition within the field they are in and towards the existing clients and future clientele they are aiming for. Given the short turnaround time, this knowledge really helped speed up the process to arrive at advanced first-stage solutions to take for approval to the board.
The new logo retains a strong evolutionary feel while refreshing the design to be more modern and befitting of the brand’s values. The tighter, more condensed profile helps the logo fit more easily on modern social platforms and print while still having enough space to breathe easily.
The brand was launched and delivered internally first via an online Teams broadcast to the entire DJH group. The presentation showed how the brand would roll out through visuals of the signage, presentation screens, stationery, and promotional merchandise, which were all artworked and delivered.
